Our Roots
Jake Johnson, founder of J3Tech, always loved solving problems with technology. His father, Tom Johnson, owned several funeral homes, so after Jake graduated from college, he went to work in his dad’s company. There, he helped to set up and install the workstations that the funeral homes used for receiving and accounting.
In the late 1990s, Mr. Johnson started Johnson Consulting Group, a brokerage and evaluation firm for the funeral and cemetery profession. Eventually, it evolved to become a consulting company for funeral businesses. It was there that Mr. Johnson developed Performance Tracker, a customer experience platform.
Our Future
Due to the success of Performance Tracker, Johnson and his leadership team, led by Lori Salberg, decided to spin it off to create J3Tech Solutions. J3Tech is dedicated to using technology to build solutions to the problems the Johnson Consulting Group team sees again and again from funeral home operators on the consulting side. The two companies work in tandem: Johnson Consulting needs efficient solutions for its customers, and J3Tech makes that happen. Today, we help the funeral profession feel comfortable stepping into the digital age.
Today, with investment firms coming into the funeral profession because they see opportunity, it‘s powerful that J3Tech Solutions’ ownership and leadership have their roots in the funeral service profession. Our company facilitates a better experience for families and helps hardworking funeral owners who’ve been in the profession for generations. That philosophy and our technology solutions sets us apart, and makes us a true partner to the businesses we serve.
